Requirements for the lubricant: Electrical contacts that execute a relative movement at the contact surface can be lubricated to reduce wear. Wear particles can lead to contact problems, for example when they form a wear paste with the lubricant. Wear can destroy galvanic layers. The lubricant may not have a corrosive or oxidizing effect on the contact material. It should not alter chemically (resinify), and may not form insulating reaction layers.
